Fun Things To Do This Thanksgiving in Huntsville

The retail stores have jumped from Halloween right into Christmas but there are many fun fall and Thanksgiving related activities to take advantage of in Huntsville in the coming weeks. Turkey Trot 5K Run

The Turkey Trot is a great way to work up an appetite for your Thanksgiving dinner. Registration is at 7:00 AM Thanksgiving morning and the race at 8:00 AM. Spragins Hall, UAH campus Huntsville, AL 35899. (256) 716-4052. Admission is charged.

Veterans Day Parade

The traditional time for a Veterans Day parade is the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. At 11 AM the flag at the corner of Williams & Lowe Avenues will be raised to full mast, followed by taps & a three-volley rifle salute. This year's theme is "Courage, Sacrifice, and Duty – We Honor Those Who Serve."

Veteran's Memorial Museum Open House

In recognition of our veterans, the Veteran's Memorial Museum will hold a free admission Open House following the parade in downtown. (256) 883-3737


Thanksgiving Skate at the Benton H. Wilcoxon Ice Complex

Skate off all that extra turkey at regular admission rates during our special extended Thanksgiving hours! Wednesday, November 24:11am-5:20pm. Thursday, November 25: Closed - Happy Thanksgiving! Friday, November 26: 11am-5:50pm.
